How to Keep Young People in the Faith for Life Class

October 28 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

On October 21st and 28th at 6:30pm Robert Campbell and Pastor Watson will offer a two-week session, “God’s Design for Faith Formation,” at First Lutheran to introduce Bible studies and materials from Concordia Center for the Family designed to help our young people stay in the Christian faith for life.

In 1st Samuel, Hannah, who prayed for the gift of a child, dedicated him to Israel and the Old Testament priesthood saying, “As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord.” All of us, both parents and other members of First Lutheran, know that our children are gifts of God to be brought up “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord”, in life-long faith. But like all denominations, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod loses 30% or more of our youth in the teenage and young adult stages of life. Extensive research indicates that the key to retaining faith in young people depends on adult involvement, especially of parents, in faith development and worship in the home. Concordia Center for the Family of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod found that, overwhelmingly, parents asked for more ways and resources to make faith active at home. Pastors and parents who have taken part in this program are indicating very positive results.

Childcare will be provided.

Look for the sign-up sheet will be in the narthex.
